Tuesday January 10

Alright wish me luck, the diet is in full swing today!  I must get myself into shape...no more eating junk and workouts here I come.  Thankfully, Randy will be right with me and we can go at this together.  It makes it much easier when there is someone to push you.
The other night we started Memphis on apple sauce.  Oh my goodness!  He loved it!  He ate lots of apple sauce and did so well.  It might have helped we fed it to him when he was hungry and not like last night when we tried to have him eat after he had his bottle.  (that was a real, "duh moment" on our part!)
YUMMY!

That was pretty good!!!

Keep it coming dad, I really like this stuff!

I think I will have to try more tomorrow!

Monday January 9

Over the weekend we had a lot of relaxing time which is just wonderful!  Saturday night we had dinner with Justin, an old friend.  It was so good to catch up with him and to see how he is doing.  We also asked Justin to be Memphis' other god-parent and he accepted.  He was very honored that we asked him!  Now we just need to set the date of the baptism.
This weekend we also made space in our basement to workout!  Yes, I am going to start a workout program this week.  Randy is going to do it with me.  We are going to try the P90X workout.  I hear it is tough, so hopefully I will get myself back into shape.  But also with working out our household will be eating healthier and less.  No more second helpings and sugars will be to a minimum.  Time to get healthy in 2012!  So to keep us on track, you can check in on us once in a while to see how we are doing.
This was supposed to be on Friday's post but I forgot to add them!

Just about ready to roll over!

Love you!

Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks?!

Friday January 6

Friday night the boys (Randy, Noah, Craig, Chris and Zach) all went to Monster Jam.  Noah loved it!  While the boys were at Monster Jam, Memphis and I worked on rolling over from back to tummy.  He didn't quite get there but he is getting so close.
Well this was the best picture that Randy got of the boys!  But I think they were having a great time!

Craig and Noah watching the monster trucks!

January 6

Friday!!!!!  I am so ready for the weekend as I am meeting up with some old Winterset friends for lunch on Saturday.  I can't wait to see them!
By the way, LOVE the weather we had yesterday!  I felt like we were living in the southern US.  It was around 65 degrees...WOW!!!  This no snow stuff is great (knocking on wood right now) and I hope we can go a while longer without!
Last night we got to go to the Des Moines Police Station for Noah's Cub Scouts meeting.  It was a really neat tour we got and I think the boys loved it.  The dad that had it all planned is an officer who just returned from Iraq.  He did a nice job of showing the boys all around the station and showing them what goes on.
I had never been there before so it was neat to look around.  And who knew that there was a museum on the 2nd floor?!?  Not me!  Kinda neat to look at all of the old "stuff" they had there.  Next time you are bored go take a look its free and will not take long to walk through.
Enjoy your weekend!
Noah behind bars!  This better be the only time I see him behind bars! ha!

January 4

After the Christmas Tree came down we decided that we could bring up Memphis' high chair.  He is still a little too short for it but we try to make him sit in it each day so he gets used to the idea of sitting up.
Just trying to figure out this whole high chair thing!

After these pictures he threw a huge fit and he was done with the high chair for the night!

New Years!

For New Year's Eve we went down to Creston so that Noah could open his Christmas gifts as he was not able to go with us for Christmas as he was with him mom.
It was nice to be able to spend a nice and enjoyable night in Creston with family.  We didn't do a whole lot but got to just sit and relax, kinda nice to do once in a while!  The kids had a great time playing and having their own little New Year's Party!
Memphis getting ready to cheer on the Hawkeyes before the bowl game on December 30.  Too bad we lost but it could have been much worse!

Christmas

Wow, first sorry for not being on here in a while!  It has been a busy 2 weeks.  I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season.  I know ours was wonderful and always great to see family and friends, even if those friends share the flu with you.  Yes, I got that awful Norovirus (I believe, if not it was some awful strand of the flu) and seemed to then spread it to the rest of my family.  It hit me Christmas Eve at Chris and Sara's house...ugh!  What a way to spend Christmas Eve with the family.  Christmas day I was feeling better and was able to make it down to Creston to see my family.
Let me just add that Memphis and Noah had a great Christmas.  We had so much fun!
But within a few days Memphis and Noah each got it and and then Randy.  But by New Year's Eve we were finally virus free...knock on wood!!!
Okay I am going to try to do a recap in pictures of Christmas!  Several Christmases on here!
