But this weekend we had my Grandparent's Auction. It might have been one of the toughest things to go through. Watching so many memories being bought by other people. NOT FUN! That is why I bought the damnedest (is that a word?) things! Seriously, I bought a box of pens and pencils, most of my grandma's Tupperware, Randy got my grandpa's nice wood working bench. Tyler picked up some great things that he is going to use once they move into grandpa's house. Such as the roll top desk, dresser and drawers, and lots of other misc. stuff! My dad also picked up grandpa's recliners, nativity scene (last thing that my grandma put out before she passed away and my grandpa never put it back away). I know my family scored lots of great stuff but it was hard watching the memories being taken away. But the memories that can never be taken are the ones when we spent the time with our grandparents. The many nights of spending the night (probably at least 2 or 3 times a month if not more!), all of the games they would come to and watch us play. Them honking their car horn at us at the ball fields if we hit a homerun, making lunch/dinner with grandma, and even me getting the chance to live with my grandpa for 8 years on and off through college and him letting me call his house HOME! Those are the memories no one can take from us!
The auction is over and now my brother can start to make more family memories in the house that has brought so many!

Empty house...can't wait for new memories to begin. I know Grandpa and Grandma would be excited to have Tyler's family moving in! (sorry for the blurriness) |
