Wednesday February 29

Happy Leap Day!
Not much going on last night or this morning.  Memphis did try peas last night and was not thrilled with them.  However, he does get to try them again tonight!  Lucky kid!
We had this picture taken this fall and I just love it!  Great picture of two great people I love!

Tuesday February 28

Last night we had dinner at Grandma Palmer's house and she made some excellent broccoli cheese soup.  Noah had to go to the allergist yesterday and we found out that he is allergic to an outside mold and dust.  Thankfully, these two allergies were only very minor and doesn't require the inhaler like we thought it would!  Memphis is starting to roll over on both sides now.  And yesterday we noticed that he is trying to get up to his knees but he gets very upset if he is on his tummy for too long.  So we just practice for a little bit a time a few times a day!

A very HAPPY Memphis!
Little Rigs completely exhausted from our day of fun on Sunday.

More from the weekend

Here are some more pictures from yesterday!
Mom pushing Memphis around!  Memphis loved being in the stroller!
Randy and Tyler trying to get the ball to go into the cup!  Never happened!

Brent and Jaycee having fun with the air and ball machine!

Monday February 27

Wow what a weekend!  We were busy from the start.  Friday I went with Ashley to get my mani/pedi.  We had a wonderful time, and we also realized that we have been friends for around 17 years!!!  Isn't that crazy?  Ashley, I will never forget the day I saved you in volleyball practice!  :)
Saturday was a relaxing day as Noah and I played about 15 games of Candy Land.  I think this was payback for ALL of the times I made my family play Candy Land.  But guess what?  I love playing games, so it didn't bother me one bit!
Sunday, was a day packed full of fun.  We (Randy, Noah, Memphis, myself, Tyler, Tori, Jaycee and Rigs) left for Iowa City around 8:30am to meet up with my mom and Brent.  We had lunch and then spent the day at Coral Ridge Mall going to the Children's Museum.  This is one cool place for kids and adults.  We had a wonderful day with everyone.  Thank you Mom and Brent for coming and meeting up with us!

We had to make a pit stop at Kinnick Stadium so that Noah could see it.  He so badly wanted to go inside and see the football field but obviously that wasn't an option!  Instead he settled for a picture on the outside with his sock monkey,   Noah is set on going to a football game this fall, so I best start trying to figure out when we will attend a football game!

Jaycee and Noah riding the carousel in the mall.

Hi Noah!

Riggins and Tori on the carousel.

Noah and Randy riding in a simulated airplane game.

Noah in a pedal airplane!

**Ok I have lots of other pictures but they are not posting (bummer)...if I can get them to post I will later!  Enjoy the week!
**I do think you all get the hint that we had a great time!

Friday February 24

Last night we got snow, I think somewhere between 3 and 4 inches.  When I went out this morning, I couldn't believe how pretty it was outside.  (Yes, snow is still not my favorite thing but it was pretty today!)  I snapped a couple of pictures as I had to do it quickly as Memphis was waiting patiently for me in the car!
By the way, today I get to go have a mini-girls night with my friend Ashley!  We have mani/pedi's planned for tonight!  We have been looking forward to this since we bought our deal about 3 months ago!
Looking out into our backyard...this picture doesn't really portrait how pretty is really was.

Thursday February 23

Not much going on here the last couple of days!  Sounds like more snow, so those of you who LOVE snow, ENJOY!
Happy Memphis!  He was very happy yesterday when Randy picked him up from Karen's.

Wednesday February 22

Last night we had dinner at our church for Shrove Tuesday (day of Pancakes or day before Lent begins).  Pancakes were great.  During dinner, Noah gets up and says to Randy, "dad can I go and speak to the minister?"  "Sure," says Randy.  Noah then walks over and waits to speak to Pastor Bill as he is speaking to someone else (gosh I wish I would have had my camera, adorable with him just waiting to speak to the Pastor).  Noah finally gets to talk to him (and honestly I have no idea what Noah discussed with him but he walked back smiling!)
Happy Wednesday!

Tuesday February 21

Happy Fat Tuesday!  Well I had to take a break from my diet for the last couple weeks, but on a positive note, I didn't gain any weight while off.  Today I am back on the diet wagon!  I am trying something new, doing a 15-20 minute workout a day with a friend of mine from work and maybe doing some P90X on the weekends, as it is a struggle to do a 45-90 minute workout with a baby who doesn't understand he has to keep himself entertained.  So now we are making some adjustments and we will hope that it works!
Feel free to check in to see how I am doing, it is a good way to keep me accountable.
I also promised my husband that this picture would make the blog soon.  So here you go my dear!
Randy after he poofs his hair up (at the time he really needed a haircut)  Gotta love this guy!!!  :)

Sunday February 19

Today Memphis is 7 months old!!! The time is really flying fast soon it will be July and we will be celebrating his first birthday along with Noah's 7th birthday (seriously. Noah. 7.  This kid is growing very fast!)
We also got to go to Winterset to watch Emma play basketball.  This is her first year of ever playing and she is doing a good job.
7 months!  Happy Baby!
Emma is #23 in black!  Way to go Emma!

Jaycee, Tyler and Memphis all watching Emma.

Saturday February 18

Saturday morning I volunteered to watch Jaycee and Rigs for a few hours.  We played outside and just watched a movie.  At one point Jaycee looks at me and says, "I would like to hold Memphis."  Then while Memphis is sitting next to her she makes Riggins get up in the chair with her and says to me, "Aunt Jenny can you please take a picture of all of us?"  Why of course Jaycee Mae I will take a picture of all of you!!!
Babysitting the kids on Saturday!!! We had lots of fun!

Friday February 17

Last night we had Noah's conferences and got a nice report back from his teacher.  He still needs to work on a few behaviors but his academics are strong!  He really is trying to get it figured out.
Since I was feeling awful last night, I was asleep by 8:30.  Let me tell you, I must have needed it as I do feel a little bit better today.
Hey it's Friday!  ENJOY!
Noah being silly!  He is all wrapped up in his new towel he got from Papa and Grandma Palmer for Valentine's Day!

Thursday February 16

Last night we had Craig over for dinner and I decided I was going to make meatloaf, au gratin potatoes (homemade) and green beans.  Sounds like an easy meal, well it was until I sliced open my thumb while using the my slicer and tried to slice off my thumb.  OUCH!  Thankfully, Randy came home a few minutes after I cut myself.  Him and Craig took a look at it and both decided that the doctor's wouldn't put stitches in it, so I just have to keep it wrapped for the day.
Thumbs...
You really do not think how often you use your thumb until you have a bandage over it and can't really use it.  Such as: buttoning your pants, brushing your teeth, combing your hair, trying to style your hair (reason my hair is in pony tail today!), finish the rest of dinner (not an easy task, but did it and I might add, it was pretty darn good), changing a diaper, putting on baby clothes, typing, and etc.  This list can go on and on!
Tonight we have conferences for Noah, I am hoping it will be pretty good news as he has been doing better in school!  YAY!  But we will find out for sure tonight.
Memphis hanging out in his crib playing with his football!

My bandaged thumb!  :(  But on a positive note, the throbbing has gone away!

Wednesday February 15

Last night was relaxing and fun!  Noah and I went to the store to get dessert last night and he decided that we needed to have hot fudge sundaes.  YUM!  I let him pick out what ingredients we needed: ice cream, hot fudge, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, whipped topping.  (we had plenty of chocolate!)
After sundaes it was bath time!
Noah loves taking a bath with Memphis.

Tuesday February 14

Happy Valentine's Day!
Today I am thankful to have married my best friend.  Randy you are an amazing man, husband, and father.  Thank you for being you.  I am blessed to have 2 wonderful children on this Valentine's Day, I love you Noah and Memphis!
Now if I could have just gotten my act together I would have gotten the boys Valentine's Day shirts, but no such luck.  But guess what, they got Harley shirts, which they will get tonight.
Brotherly Love!  Both boys sticking out their tongues.  (Over the weekend, Memphis found his tongue and it has been out ever since!)

A Day I will ALWAYS remember!

Monday February 13

FRIDAY
We got to watch Jaycee and Riggins while Tyler and Tori went to have dinner and a movie.  Let me tell you I DO NOT know how people have 4 children, especially if they are all under the age of 6.  The kids were all pretty well behaved but they are just always on the go.  Jaycee and Noah playing and they actually played pretty well together and then poor Rigs was always following behind wanting to play and finally I think he just figured that hanging out with Memphis was more up his alley!
SATURDAY
We got to meet Nicole, Donnie and Grayson at Hilltop Restaurant in East Des Moines for dinner.  It was nice to catch up with them.  Grayson is a cutie but he is on the go.  He is 2 years old and let me tell you he has his mom on the go too!
SUNDAY
I became a member of Immanuel Methodist Church.  It was a nice little recognition they had during the service for me and another couple.  Thanks to Peggy and Craig for taking us all out to breakfast!
MONDAY
SNOW...ugh!  Seriously, I am ready for spring.  But I am done complaining for today as we have had a nice winter.
I should also mention that my cousin Kerry had her baby boy last week.  Welcome to the world Grayson!  We can't wait to meet you.  (yeah, two Grayson's in one post!)

Jaycee and Noah playing on the IPAD.  They each took turns and did a nice job of sharing!

Memphis and Rigs playing.

Noah, Riggins, Memphis and Jaycee...I think Memphis was a little frightened!

Becoming a member...Noah wanted to go up with me!  (picture taken off my phone, not so good!)

Friday February 10

Pretty pumped that it is Friday!  Then again, I am always happy when it is Friday.
Last night Noah had Tiger Cubs, let me tell you, unorganized is the key word for this group...ugh!  But I think it all finally got figured out.
This weekend looks busy for us.  Tonight we get to babysit Jaycee and Riggins while Tyler and Tori go to dinner and a movie.  Saturday, Randy, the kids and myself are meeting up with Randy's friend Nicole and her family.  Then Sunday I will become a new member at Immanuel Methodist Church, this is the church that Randy grew up in and it has that small community feeling.  I think that is why I love it there as it reminds me of home (Creston).
There will hopefully be some good pictures on here next week from the weekend!  Enjoy your weekend!
Sorry that this pictures are not the best but that is what you get with the phone that I have!  :)
Noah getting ready to decorate his cupcake for Tiger Cubs.

Taking a moment to smile for me...as you can see my the blurriness that it didn't last long as he turned that head of his real quick so that he could eat that cupcake!

Wednesday February 9

Last night I got to go out to dinner with some great friends!  I met up at Panera Bread with the Silliman clan!  It was so awesome to see Michelle, Macie, Mari and Jercie.  By the way, Jercie is ADORABLE!  I mean this little girl is so sweet, until she gets this high pitched squeal, and I mean high pitched!  But she is still cute.  It was funny to see her point at Memphis and say, "Baby."  Now I just wish I would have taken pictures of the two together.  But I plan on seeing them a lot more this spring at a lot of the softball games; I plan to watch the Drake Bulldogs (Go Macie) and the DMACC Bears (GO Mari).  I am proud of these two girls!
Since I have no pictures here are some old ones.
Mari, me and Macie.  This is from our softball banquet!

Macie and Noah!  Noah loves these girls and I think they love him!

Tuesday February 7

Not much going on these last few days. We have been working and then coming home and playing with the kids.  Wish I would have taken a picture this morning of Noah and Memphis as Noah got up WAY early, 5:40, which was the time that Memphis was up so while Randy and I got ready Noah said that he would feed Memphis!  What a great kid to help us out and to feed his brother.  Noah absolutely loves to be able to help out with Memphis, unless it has to deal with a stinky diaper!
With no pictures to show, here is one of Memphis just getting out of the bath.

Monday February 6

Super Bowl
We spent Sunday at Tyler and Tori's house to watch the Super Bowl.  My dad, grandpa and Emma all showed up and it was nice to spend sometime with everyone.
I think we were all cheering for the Giants so we got the win, even though none of our teams where in the Super Bowl we still had a fun time!
By the way, Jaycee goes to pre-school tomorrow in West Des Moines!  She is so excited.  She gets to go 2 days a week.  Good luck Jaycee Mae!
Dad, Memphis and Emma

Jaycee, Riggins, Me, and Memphis (who looks totally amazed by what Riggins was doing!)

Memphis, Tori and Rigs

Jaycee and Tyler

Grandpa, Tori and Tyler

Tori taking the kids on a sled ride!  The kids loved it...just wish Noah would have been there to enjoy it!

Jaycee showing off her "circus" room.  Tyler and Tori move in and this is what the room looked like.  They wanted to paint BUT Jaycee LOVES it!  So it stays for now!

Rigs had to show me his bed too and get his picture taken!  He was so stinkin' cute about having me take his picture.  After he showed me his bed he hopped in and got under the covers and had me take more pictures!

By the looks of it we did have a great night!  Thank you Tyler and Tori for having a Super Bowl Party for all of us to get together!

Friday February 3

Well, I think my warm spring temperatures are leaving for a while and winter is returning.  Tonight into Saturday we are supposed to get some snow...sounds like it can be anywhere between a couples of inches to a whole lot.  I am hoping for just a couple of inches!
Happy Weekend!
These two are just adorable!

Noah and Memphis, love you two little boys to pieces!

Thursday February 2

Last night Randy finally got home and guess who slept the entire night?  MEMPHIS!  I guess it takes his daddy to be home and he will sleep the entire night.  Therefore, I told Randy he doesn't get to leave again!  :)
Sounds like Randy did have a nice time up in South Dakota.  (minus the whole funeral thing)  He said it was nice to see family that he hasn't seen in 20 some years.  He brought gifts back for all of us, except the boys will get theirs for Valentine's Day!
Memphis and Uncle Tony!  I think Memphis is trying to figure out that Uncle Tony!  (Memphis if you do let the rest of us know!)

Memphis and Great Grandma Palmer

Wednesday February 1

Happy February!  Only one more month and I can at least start thinking spring.  I really shouldn't complain we have had a pretty good winter so far.  Heck, you can't beat 65-55 degrees in January!

Last night Memphis slept a little bit better.  He still got up a couple of times but nothing like Monday night.

I got a call from Randy last night and he was at the Badlands in South Dakota with some family.  He sent me a picture from his phone.  Randy is in South Dakota for his Great Aunt Billie's funeral.  He will be home today which I am so thankful for!

What a beautiful sight!
