Random

So we have some exciting news...we are selling our house!  Well I should say we are putting it on the market to sell, it hasn't sold yet!  We found a really cheap house in Johnston.  It will need some (alot of fixing up) but eventually we can make it what we want.  And the biggest bonus for me is that our boys can go to Johnston Schools (because if we would stay put where we are now the kids would have to go to Des Moines Public Schools).  And it also puts me closer to work as I would only be about a 2 minute drive.
Now we have been working on our house and have gotten far with it but I feel like we will never get done.  The main level is pretty much done.  I had a friend of mine come over and help us stage the living room.  The living room looks so much bigger (but then again we took a ton of stuff out)!
Last night, Peggy and Craig came over to help paint the basement (well Peggy and I painted while Randy and Craig went out and about with Memphis).
So any prayers for us to sell our house quickly would be appreciated!  We will be burying the St. Joseph soon as he is to bring you luck in selling your home.  St. Joseph is the patron saint of real estate.  My Aunt did this and they sold their house soon after doing this and my grand mother was the one to tell them to do this.  So we will try it out also.
But you are to bury him upside down in the direction you want to move in your yard and then say a prayer as a family where you bury him.  Worth a shot if you ask me!  And one doesn't have to be catholic (I asked)!

Here are some pictures of the living room!

Sunday February 23

Today Noah had his Blue and Gold Banquet.  He is now a Webelo.  Which means in another 2 years he will be a Boy Scout!  Hard to believe it has gone this fast!  Thanks to Peggy for taking some pictures as I had to jet out as Memphis wet through his diaper and his pants were soaked!  So thanks to Peggy we have picture!!

Saturday February 22

On Saturday, Ashley and I headed down to Kansas City to meet up with Kelli and Brandi!  Thankfully, Peggy and Craig watched the kids for me so that Ashley and I could take off early Saturday morning.
Out first pictures of the day!

Once we arrived in KC, Ashley had a wedding to go to (our friend Brian was getting married).  During that time, Kelli and I decided to go out for lunch and have a couple of drinks.
While Kelli and I were waiting for everyone to meet up with us at the hotel...Ashley had left her iPad with us so we thought some selfies would be in order.
Nothing like acting like a 12 year old!

After our round of selfies, Brandi and Michelle arrived.  Ashley was on her way back to the hotel and brought Andrea (another one of our friends who was at the wedding) with her.  It was great to catch up quickly with Andrea as she couldn't stay long.
Me, Kelli, Andrea, Brandi and Ashley
We all went shopping and after a couple hours of shopping we decided an early dinner would be great!  We headed to the Yard House and had a wonderful time!
Mine and Kelli's half yard drinks at the Yard House!
After and drinks we headed back to the hotel.  Ashley and Kelli wanted to get in the hot tub so we went down to the pool area.  While they were swimming Brandi, Michelle and I played UNO!  Once done lounging in the hot tub we headed back to the room for an intense game of UNO for the 5 of us, but I wish I would have taken a picture of Kelli who was half asleep in the chair and only playing because we might have made fun of her if she fell asleep by 9pm! (secretly, I might have been able to sleep too!)

Saturday February 15

Saturday we got to have Jaycee and Riggins spend the night with us.  Memphis just loves it when these two come over.  It helps that him and Rigs are such good buddies most of the time!
The kids had a great time playing!
You will also be able to see that Jaycee has broken her arm.  She has a temporary cast on now but on Friday will get the real thing!  She broke her arm at the Creston Wrestling Meet last week.  She was running and tripped over a mat and landed on her arm.

Memories

While cleaning I have found several items!  Lots of pictures!  I found this picture from Christmas 2005!
What a great picture of Brit, Nan and myself!  Love you more!

Friday February 14

So I realized this morning I forgot to get Memphis a Valentine's Day shirt this year!  Good thing he has a few red shirts!
We do not have big plans for Valentine's Day.  We are going to order out from Olive Garden (since we have a gift card) and enjoy a nice dinner at home with the 3 of us (Noah is with his mom tonight).
This is mine and Memphis' selfie for Valentine's Day!

Monday February 10-My Random Thoughts

So I just have a lot of random thoughts racing through my mind lately!  One of them being, how do I get back on track to losing weight or even just back into shape?  I mean seriously, I did so well when I did Kosama, but now don't want to join again because of the time, class doesn't start for me until 4:15pm (this would be the only time that would come close to working for me), means I don't get home until almost 5:30.  Now I know some of you are thinking, seriously, I do not even get off work until then.  I get it, but I am off at 3:30 and my family is hungry at 5:30 or sooner for dinner (we are early eaters on most nights because of the kiddos).  So I am pretty sure that if I want to get back into shape I need to join something.  So this time through I am going to try Farrell's Extreme Body Shaping.  Pretty much kick boxing and resistance training.  Kick boxing was my favorite at Kosama so that is a bonus and class starts at 3:45 much better time for me and I am home by 5pm and dinner can be ready by 5:30 on most nights!!!
Gosh, I have been running this through my head over and over again and last night I was talking to Sara and said I just need to do something to kick start me being healthy again.  I hope this is it.  I enjoy working out once I get into the routine, so come March (or that is when I think the next class starts) I will be back at it.  Until then, time to get back on track with my healthier eating!
Well one thing can now quit running through my mind!  Trust me there are several more items to be discussed...that may come later!
For now, enjoy the week ahead and I will do my best at getting some more pictures on here of those cute kids of mine!

Sunday February 9

Well we finally got our act together enough to all get to church!  It was nice to get the boys to Sunday School (thankfully Peggy helps us out there, as her and Noah enjoy some time together before Sunday School as they go to breakfast and then they swing by and get Memphis)!

Most pictures look like this since Memphis stands still for about 1 second!

So I bribed him and told him if he wanted to go to Grandma and Grandpa's he has to take a picture!  It worked!

Monday February 3

Today we decided that it was time to bring back out Monday night meals that Grandma Palmer always had.  A couple of changes though: one Monday a month and at our house!
It was a lot of fun, I made waffles and bacon.  I tried my best to make them like grandma's but they didn't turn out like hers at all.  I even used the same dang recipe!  All in all our first Monday night dinner was great!
After dinner, Memphis wanted to take a bath and I told him he could when everyone leaves.  So he walks away and goes and gets everyone their shoes so that they can leave!  LOL!  He even knew whose shoes when to who, man that kid is with it (but as Chris said feet are at his level)!

The only picture I got!  At least it was a good one!

Saturday February 1

This afternoon we headed out to watch Zach play some basketball!  He was so much fun to watch and he scored 4 baskets!  He is getting pretty good at shooting and watching him dribble was a sight, he keeps the ball low to the ground and dribbles (let me tell you, no one will be able to steal the ball)!
I kept thinking that Memphis was doing so well watching Zach...well that came to an end quickly because he didn't care for sitting and couldn't understand why he couldn't play basketball himself.  Gosh maybe I will have a basketball player on my hands!

By the way I was never able to get a picture of Zach shooting!
Hands up and ready to go!

Taking a breather!

Friday January 31

Tonight we all headed down to Creston for Tyler and Tori's grand opening of Hanson Fitness!  What a success it was.  They had lots of people come in and sign up for a membership and then a few even signed up for personal training!
I couldn't be happier for my brother and Tori, we wish them all of the success in the world!
Outside of the fitness center!

Busy at work signing people up!  Tori's salon is on the other side of the wall that is behind them!  Wasn't able to get any pictures but will next time!

The inside.
