Wednesday November 28

We found Max and Jax racing against Mickey and Zebra this morning in the living room!  I think Max must have found the XBox remote control for the starting line!  Ready, Set, Go!

Tuesday November 27

This morning we found the elves on Noah's stairs!  Noah walked right by them and didn't even see them this morning until we told him he needed to go and look for the elves.  His reaction was funny as he looked at us and said, "how did I miss that when I walked down this morning?"
I also have to share that Noah has been doing wonderfully at school!  Last Wednesday he got an OUTSTANDING!  That is the best he can get on his chart!  We are so proud of him.

Max rolled Jax down the stairs!  Those silly elves!

Monday November 26

Check out where the elves were this morning!

Friday November 23

Well, we started out the day by doing some Black Friday shopping!  We had a good time and got some great deals!
After a night full of shopping we got some sleep and headed over to my brother's house for Thanksgiving with my family.  Great food!
Memphis did not want to sit still for the picture!

Thanksgiving November 22

This morning we had 2 visitors arrive!  Our elves showed up this morning with a note to Noah and Memphis.  Noah was so excited to meet Max (as last year Max was still getting his magic) but Max brought his little brother with him, Jax!  It is great that we got brother elves.

Thanksgiving Day was so beautiful that we were able to play outside for a while!

Wednesday November 21

Okay, so I know it is not Wednesday but I wanted to get my post on here as I will not be on for a while!  But I do know what we are thankful for and it is for step-parents!  I am lucky that both of my parents have found someone that truly makes them happy.  Today I am thankful for Brent and Tara.  Brent has brought my mom so much happiness as Tara as to my dad.  It makes me happy that both of my parents are truly with people they love and that these two both love me and my family.  Thank you!

Tuesday November 20

Last Tuesday Noah had his music concert.  He did such a great job and it was so much fun to watch.  However, I would say that Memphis would not agree with that.  There were times he had fun listening to the music and then other times he flat refused to do anything but throw a fit!

Today, we are thankful for all of our friends!  We have so many friends that have gone out of their way to help us and just be our friends!  Thank you so much to all of you...yeah you know who you are!

Noah before his concert!

Everyone waiting for the music concert to begin!  Thank you for all coming!

Memphis throwing a fit...concert hasn't even started yet!

Random pictures of our friends...well mainly my friends as for some reason we do not have a lot of pictures of Randy's friends...my guess is that he never takes the camera with him...go figure...must be a guy thing!

Monday November 19

Today I am thankful for my extended family.  Including all aunts, uncles, and cousins!  Randy and I are so happy that we have such a great family!  We are lucky that I have family in Fort Myers, Florida giving us a reason to go and visit every so often.  Randy has family in San Diego...now we just need to visit California sometime!  If anyone hits the lotto and wants to send us you sure can!!! (HA!)

We are also happy to have the family that is close by whether it be right here in Des Moines or Creston.  Then we have family in Wisconsin, Colorado, and I am sure I am missing a city or state somewhere!  Thank you all!  We love you all more!

After looking at my pictures I have decided that I need more pictures of my extended family, or maybe I just need to go and visit everyone more often!

Today we are thankful for Randy's brothers and sister in law.  We are so lucky to have Chris, Sara and Tony in our lives.  We know that they are always there for us and willing to help us out if needed.  We do not always express that we appreciate what everyone does but I hope that you all know how appreciative we are.  Love you all!

Wednesday November 15

Today, I am so thankful to have these 3 little faces apart of my life.  Jaycee, Riggins and Zach are our niece and nephews!  We are so blessed that our children have great cousins and most of all that they are friends.  These 3 always find ways to make me smile.  Jaycee I love your laugh and sense of humor.  Zach I think you are the best super hero/teenage mutant ninja turtle I know and you have the most imaginative mind!  Riggins you are so stinking cute and glad that your face lights up when you see us.  The 3 of you are amazing and thank you for loving us!

Tuesday November 13

Today I am thankful for mine and Randy's grandparents.

My Grandpa Bill is an amazing man, he has ALWAYS been there for me.  He now has Alzheimer's Disease and thankfully he still remembers us.  His short term memory is gone but that long term memory is still working and that is where his happiness comes from.  This man let me live with him during my college years (who does that???)  My grandpa!  He is truly a great man.  Thank you Grandpa!

Nan, (my grandma) is a lady that truly inspires me.  She lives her life to the fullest and has always taught us to do the same.  She is an amazing grandma and I am so happy that she is my grandma!  She has always been that grandma that loves to take her grandkids on trips and do fun things!  Thank you for being my grandma!

Randy's Grandma Palmer. Darlene has always put her family first and would do anything for them.  She has always loved to have her kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids come over to her house.  The more the merrier!  She is one of the best cooks we know!  Randy has so many fond memories of all of the times that he got to spend the night at her house as a young kid.  Heck, I think he would still spend the night if given the opportunity!

Randy's Grandma Bailey.  Alene is a wonderful grandma who loves her family.  She is always willing to help out if she can.  And we are so blessed that she is a great cook too!  Having grandmas that can make great food always provides for a good time!

WE LOVE ALL OF YOU MORE!

Monday November 12

Today I am thankful for my siblings.
Tyler and I might not always see eye to eye but I know that we love each other and that he would do anything to help me out!  I am lucky to have a great brother with a wonderful family.

Then there is Emma!  She is such a joy to have in our family.  She is funny, loving and always cares about her niece and nephews!  We are lucky she is apart of our family!

Friday November 9

Today we are so thankful for Randy's parents, Craig and Peggy.  They have done so much for us and continue to do so much for us.  They are always willing to help watch the kids or help us with whatever thing we might be working on.  Craig helps watch Noah every Tuesday and Wednesday during the school year and Peggy is always leaving Noah something fun to find or do each morning he is there with the notes she leaves him (Noah loves reading those notes each time).  We are so grateful these two people are great parents and grandparents!  Thank you for always being there for us.
We Love You Both!
The day Memphis was born!  The looks of pure joy and how happy they are each time they see their grand kids!

This picture totally captures what Peggy and Craig will do to help us!  Thank you again for all you do!

Thursday November 8

This morning I am so thankful for my Dad.  He has always supported me and been there for me. I am truly thankful and blessed to have him in my life.  Thank you Dad for always loving me and my family!  By the way...he is a pretty cool Grandpa too!
Love you Dad!

Wednesday November 7

Today I am thankful for my MOM!  She is the BEST LADY/GRAMMY I know.  Thank you Mom for ALL you have ever done for me and my family.  We wish you were closer and that we saw you more often but always know that We LOVE you MORE!

Tuesday November 6

Folks get out there and vote today!  I will say that I am thankful that there will be NO more political ads after tonight!!! YAY!
But I am also thankful for my two boys.  Memphis and Noah play a HUGE role each day in our lives and we are so lucky that they are ours!  It is so much fun to watch them grow and learn each day, even if they are a bit ornery once in a while.

Love you More!

Sunday November 4

Today I headed to Lamoni to a memorial service for a friend/mentor of mine.  Sharon Carr was my mentor when I first started teaching in Lamoni.  All new teachers are assigned a mentor for their first 2 years of teaching.  I was blessed to have Sharon.  She pushed me each day and made me think outside of the box.  Her and I even planned a trip in 2006 to Italy with 17 of Lamoni high school students.  We had a blast.  Unfortunately, last Wednesday morning she never woke up.  She will be truly missed.  Her memorial service was beautiful and it was amazing to see some wonderful people that I haven't seen in a long time.

I was lucky enough to sit with my friend Brenna and her family.  Her kids are growing so fast and I can't wait for them to start basketball this winter to watch a few games!  Now I wish I would have taken a picture...dang!

Today I am thankful for me and all that God has given me.  I have a wonderful family, great friends and faith!

I love how we all have different expressions on our faces!

Saturday November 3

Talk about a busy day!  Saturday morning I started out the day doing Saturday school.  After that I took Noah bowling for cub scouts.  Then Randy and I met up with Lee, Jon and Chad (all Winterset friends) for some drinks and dinner.  We ate at Splash, I would say save your money and go elsewhere!  Randy and I did have one of the best appetizers (calamari and shrimp)...delish!  And thanks to Peggy and Craig for watching the boys all day long!!!

Today is also Tori's Birthday!  Happy Birthday Tori!  I am so lucky to have Tori in my life, she is a beautiful person inside and out.  Love you sister!  Today I am thankful for Tori and happy that she is apart of our family.

Cub Scouts, plus a few extras that were there to bowl with the kids!  We had FUN!
Happy Birthday Sister!  We love you!

Friday November 2

Today I am thankful to have the best husband and he just happens to be my best friend!  Thank you Randy for always putting us first and loving all of us unconditionally.  To the best husband, father, and friend!  We love you!

November 1

Yesterday at school we had our monthly faculty meeting.  Each month we meet there are 3 golden apples and 1 plunger awards handed out.  The golden apples are handed out to anyone going above and beyond and the plunger goes to anyone caught doing something that is usually deemed pretty funny (such as sending an email out to your husband but it goes to a board member, this happened to one of our counselors)!
At the meeting I received one of the golden apples!  A teacher gave it to me for always helping students and taking on more students when they are not on my roster.  It feels good to be appreciated by my colleagues and knowing that I am trying to make a difference.  I am lucky to be where I am and very thankful that I am able to make a difference (even if I only make a difference to one kid)!  Today starts my days of being thankful.
