Saturday September 12- Iowa vs. ISU Game

Today I headed to the Iowa vs. Iowa State Football game played in Ames.  Brenna shared one of her tickets with me!  Love her!  We started our "adventure" at 9am!  But didn't get to Ames until about 1pm.  I will say there was a traffic jam on I-35 that did hold us up for a bit.

Anyway once we finally made it to the stadium to tailgate we had an AMAZING day.  We stopped by my friend Chris' tailgate and she graciously let us sit with them and just hang out.  Alicia (another teacher) stopped by!

I totally enjoyed my day.  I am so thankful that Brenna and I were able to go.  It was definitely a much needed day of fun, friendship and football!

Sunday September 6

Today we celebrated Bailey's 1st Birthday!  This year has gone so quickly, it is hard to believe that she is 1 and is almost ready to walk.  She has such great balance, I know it will be soon and she will be walking all over!!!

September 5

Today was the start of College Football and more specifically, time to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes!

Memphis even sat with me for part of the game and cheered on the Hawks.  Except he kept asking when are the Johnston Dragons going to play!  Guess I better get him to a game. 

August 31

Today was Memphis' first day at preschool!  He was so excited to go to school.  Randy took him out for breakfast.  He must of really liked his breakfast because he had to change his clothes quickly before he had to go to school.

August 28

Today was meet the teacher day at school for Memphis.  We went earlier in the week because I didn't think I could get off to go but I was able too!
So on Monday we meet with Ms. Gee (Memphis's teacher) at the school instead of our house as we didn't think that we would get there on Friday.  Memphis was so shy and wouldn't even speak to her.  Thankfully, when I took him on Friday he would kind of speak to her and he even played with the other kids.  He really likes to play with Minka, she is seriously the sweetest little thing!

August 24

Today Noah starts the 5th grade!!!  Holy smokes the last year of elementary school.  I can remember that first day of preschool for him.  Time has flown by.
Noah did say that he likes the 5th grade and that he likes his teacher.  He has the same teacher he had in 3rd grade.  He says that he thinks she is a better teacher now.  I told him that I wonder if he is just a better student now!!!  HA!  Either way I am happy that he is liking school.  This is one of the better starts to the year so far.

Today started my 12th year of teaching.  Starting my 5th year at Johnston.  Crazy.  I do love my job but I will miss my lazy summer days!

August 17

Happy Birthday Tyler!  Welcome to the mid 30 club!

Tyler and his family were in town for his birthday and he asked if I would watch the kids while him and Tori went to a movie.  Memphis was thrilled to have Rigs to play with.  They all play so good together.  We played out front most of the time and our neighbor girl, Minka came over to play with Memphis since they will be in preschool together.
