April 24

I have decided that on Fridays I do not always like to cook dinner and that going out seems so much easier, but that will come to an end and we do not do it every Friday just ones I do not want to make dinner.  It didn't help that I was at a Wedding Shower for a co-worker of mine until 6pm and when I got home I had two starving people in my house!
We headed out and couldn't decide on anywhere so ended up at Perkins.  Not my favorite place but we were desperate as Memphis kept saying we just passed another restaurant, please find a place to eat!  HA!

While we were waiting on our food, Memphis leaned over and put his arm around my neck and pulled me over and looked at Randy and said, "dad take our picture!"  AWE!  Seriously this kid melts my heart!

Today we celebrated Emma's 13th Birthday!  OMG!  Where did the time go?  She is such an amazing young girl.  Our boys love when they know they will get to see her.  She does her best to give each of them attention.  I have to take a moment to brag about Emma a bit, she is running middle school track right now and is undefeated in the 800 meters for 7th grade!  She must get that from her mom's side of the family because I can guarantee the Hanson side is not long distance.  We like the 100 meters and 200 meters (200 is pushing it, Tyler and I both discussed how we hated running anything more).

Emma we hope you had a wonderful birthday!  We love you!

We celebrated Emma's Birthday at Texas Road House.  She got to sit on the saddle as we sang Happy Birthday!  (picture on left).

Tonight at Scouts the boys had turtle races.  It was fun to watch but some of the boys really struggled to make their turtles move.  As their turtles were connected to a piece of rope and they had to get the turtle to the other side without picking the string up too high and you all kinds of other rules.
The adults even got to partake in the fun!  Noah said that he is okay not doing the turtle races again!  It really made the kids think outside of the box!

Noah is 2nd from the left.  As you can see they had to keep the turtle standing up and it couldn't lay flat!

Randy is also 2nd from the left.

I love this photo!  These two just sat out there and ate their ice cream and talked and talked!  LOVE!

By the way, Memphis would eat ice cream and popcorn every day if allowed!

Easter Sunday

Today we had lots of fun celebrating Easter.  We went to church for breakfast, after breakfast was the Easter Egg Hunt!  Lots of candy!  Memphis and Noah thought they hit the jackpot and they kind of did with the candy.  Church service was nice, but then again I always love the Easter service.

After church we went home and relaxed so that we could gear back up for another Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Papa's house.  After dinner and Peggy and Craig's the boys got to try out Zach's 4 wheeler.  They had a blast!

Friday April 3

Tonight I had promised the boys that we would color Easter Eggs!  It started out as a disaster, as Memphis spilled dye all over the table.  Once cleaned up he got to put stickers on the eggs, this was much easier and he loves stickers!!!
Obviously, Noah did just fine decorating his eggs!

March 30

Today we celebrated Peggy's Birthday.  We surprised her by all meeting up and heading to Tokyo Steakhouse in Ankeny.  The kids always like to watch the hibachi show that is put on.  We had a wonderful dinner and they even came out and sang Happy Birthday to Peggy!  She had to wear this crazy mask, glad it was her and not me!!!

Great Night!

I couldn't get a good picture of Peggy and the kids for nothing!  But hey at least Bailey, Memphis and Peggy had their eyes open!

March 29

First, today is my Mom's Birthday!  We semi-celebrated when Memphis and I went over spring break!

Second, today we celebrated Chris' Birthday (which was on the 27th)

We had a nice dinner at Peggy and Craig's house to celebrate.

Check out the smoke from the candles!  Happy Birthday Chris!

Love this little face!!!

March 28

While on my girl's weekend away, Memphis stayed with Peggy and Craig.  Saturday morning Peggy took Memphis to see the Easter Bunny at Hy-Vee for a breakfast.  We thought this would be something he would love.  WRONG!

He hated the Easter Bunny!  (funny side note: Easter Bunny was one of my students from school, gave that kid a hard time for making my son cry! But I did tell him that it wasn't his fault)

Weekend of March 28-29

Early Saturday morning Ashley and I headed to Kansas City for our Annual Girls Weekend.  We arrived at Brandi's house and she had mimosas waiting for us...geez can you think of a better way to start out a girl's weekend?  After catching up for a bit we headed to IKEA.  Now this was my first time to IKEA and I LOVED it!  I seriously could spend all day in that store and find something in each department to buy.  I was most impressed with my band aid purchase! (sad, I know)

That afternoon, after we were done shopping we decided to head back to Brandi's house and relax until dinner time.  We decided that strip and go nakeds sounded the best for drinks.  Now normally I like these in the summer time but Brandi and I thought they sounded good and Ashley had never had this drink before so we had to have them at that point!

For dinner we went to Bo Lings.  A great Chinese/Sushi restruant. We had a great dinner on the Plaza and then ended the night with a game of cards against humanity.  LOVE THIS GAME!  Not appropriate if you are a fun hater!

At about 1am we decided that we should re-enact a picture that we had taken from our Freshmen year in college!  I think we have aged well in the 16 years!

All in all we had a wonderful weekend.  We did miss having Kelli with us but I am keeping fingers crossed that she can go with us next year and if Leanne is able we will bring her along too!
