Thursday February 28

Oh am I so happy that February will be over tomorrow.  I just feel that once you get to March, Spring is right around the corner.  I am so ready.  I think I have stated this before!
Also, I realize that I am again way behind on posting.  Sunday we had Noah's Blue and Gold Banquet but I keep forgetting to get the pictures off the camera so that post will come at some point.  Be watching for it!
Here are a few pictures of the boys playing!

Memphis just LOVES Noah to pieces...and I would say Noah LOVES Memphis to pieces too (well on most days, HA!)

Saturday February 23

Today we kept very busy.  The day started out with me dropping Noah and Memphis off at Tyler and Tori's house for a while so that I could make dutch letters, workout, and then finally finish (well almost) my dad's quilt (that he was to get for Christmas)!
Tori had the kids hard at work...cleaning!
After I finished quilting, I headed to lunch with Brandi and Ashley!  We meet up at Applebee's and had a nice lunch!  I love catching up with them and wished we were able to do it more often.
Ashley, Brandi and I (too bad I look terrible!)  Old Friends are the BEST!
Well after lunch I headed home as Tori was dropping off all of the kids at our house so that she could run a few errands and then her and Tyler were going to a movie!  These kids are such great friends and I love it when they all play together and get along!
Memphis, Riggins, Jaycee and Noah all sitting patiently waiting for the movie Hotel Transylvania to start!  Great movie for the kids, they laughed and laughed (except Riggins who fell asleep!)  Memphis loved the music as he would stop what he was doing to go and dance in front of the tv!
Uncle Randy put Rigs right to sleep!

Friday February 22

Not much going on these days...just wishing for warm weather and to be able to wear my flip flops on a daily basis!
I think Memphis is ready to put his feet in flip flops too!

Not for sure why he finds it necessary to eat his snack like this but he wasn't going to take his feet down for nothing!

Surgery Update

Wow, what a busy last 4 to 5 days.  Randy had his surgery (for his acid reflux, they wrapped some of his stomach around his esophagus) on Thursday Feb. 14 and talk about one long day.  We were on the road at 3am, Randy was in surgery at 8am and done by 10am.  All went well with his surgery!  However, after surgery Randy then had to wait in recovery for 10 hours!  Yep, didn't put that in there wrong.  10 HOURS!  Can you imagine how furious, crazy, upset, disappointed I was?  All that they kept telling me was that Randy is doing fine and that we are waiting on a room to open up.  Well, to make a long story short Randy did get a room at 8pm.  Thankfully, he had some really great nurses once we got his room.  We got to go home on Sunday afternoon.  Nothing is better than sleeping in your own bed again.

Thank you to all for the phone calls, text messages, messages and visits we got from everyone!  Big thanks to Tyler and Tori for coming over to Omaha to visit and then getting a hotel room so that I could stay with them.  I got to sleep with Jaycee (let me tell you, she is awesome, but also loves to kick, I got a heel in the gut about 4:30am, ouch!) And then on Friday, Peggy and Craig showed up with Memphis!  It was the best surprise ever (well I knew they were coming but I didn't realize it would be that early!) Peggy and Craig got a hotel room and let me stay with them.  It was wonderful!  Thank you to everyone for all of your support!

We couldn't have done this without Peggy and Craig watching Memphis for 4 days for us and for Tony watching our dogs!  Thank you guys!  All of your helps means the world to us!!!!

One of the many pictures we got while we were at the hospital!

Randy up and moving on Sunday.  Smiling because we get to finally get to go home!!!

Thursday February 14

Happy Valentine's Day!
This morning Randy and I got up at 2:15am to head to Omaha.  Randy is having surgery today to fix/redo his nissan (this is to help with his acid reflux).  He had this done 2 years ago and it came undone.  We had to be in Omaha by 5:30am and he is in surgery now! What a great way to spend Valentine's Day!
Thankfully, Peggy and Craig are watching Memphis for us.  Noah is with his mom this weekend so that worked out well.
Our Valentine's Day together (but hey at least we are together!)

Waiting and waiting....

Monday February 11

I had one of the best surprises that a girl can have.  Today Randy and Memphis came walking into my classroom with 3 roses.  This morning Randy took the boys to HyVee to get me flowers and each boy picked me a flower!  It was the most adorable thing ever!
Randy said that Noah was very bummed that he couldn't come and deliver them to me at school.

The boys getting me my flowers!  Don't they look so happy?!?

Memphis delivering the flowers!

Memphis playing!
Flowers and note on my desk!  (do you like my flower vase?)

Sunday February 10

This morning Noah was getting ready to go to Sunday School as I was getting ready to go to brunch with my friend JoAnna.  Noah looks at me and says that he would like his picture taken as he looks very nice and because Dad needs a good picture of him on his phone!  HA!  This kid makes me laugh.
Such as when I was putting Noah to bed last night, Randy says hey if he left his lights (Noah uses Christmas lights for his night light) plugged in he doesn't get to have them on tonight (a rule we have so that Noah learns about conserving energy and just plain taking responsibility!).  So as we are walking up the stairs and Randy is telling us this, Noah turns to me and says, "Jenny I will guarantee you that the lights are unplugged!"  Guess what they were unplugged!  Then as we reach the top of the stairs he turns and looks at me and says, "Be careful my nerf guns are all over up here as I was really playing with them today."  Okay, you might be wondering how come he had to warn me, well we now have Noah go upstairs to his room in the dark so that if there would be a fire he would be able to find his way out or if we lost power he wouldn't be scared but could get downstairs if he was able too!  The kid is awesome, he is able to find his lights plug them in and get into bed.

You are right Noah you do look good!!!!

Saturday February 9

This morning I helped with the administering of the ACTs at the high school.  While there, Peggy sends me a picture of the boys.  As she was watching all of the grandkids!

Zach, Noah and Memphis all watching TV!

Later that night we headed to Creston to celebrate my Grandpa's Birthday.  The kids had a blast playing and we had a nice dinner and dessert!  However, I was a dumb dumb and forgot the camera and didn't think to take any pictures with our phones!

Wednesday February 6

Well a quick up date on my progress of running.  1) It still sucks! 2) I feel better 3) I can now run for 6 minutes without stopping 4) I like to run when Ellen is on TV, makes for time to go much faster!

Okay so I still have a long way to go for my running but each day/week it gets a tiny bit easier.  And I officially registered for the Glow Run in April.

We haven't done much this week just the normal grind of daily work and playing with the kiddos!
This weekend we head to Creston again to celebrate my Grandpa's Birthday.

Tuesday February 5

Last night I thought it would be cute to get a picture of Memphis sitting and watching TV...which is absolutely adorable!  However, as I am trying to get a picture with Randy's phone, my wonderful husband sticks his head in front of the camera!  So I thought I would share that picture today of my goofy and adorable husband!

Sunday February 3

Super Bowl Sunday!  We headed to Tyler and Tori's house for the Super Bowl.   My Dad, Tara and Emma were all there and we had a nice time playing and watching the game.  Gotta say that the commercials were pretty good this year.  I was impressed with a few of them.
Tori, Memphis and I all watching the game!

Memphis and I snuggling before bed and finishing up watching the game...not for sure who is more tired in this picture?!

Friday February 1

Tonight we headed to Creston to see my cousin KC who was in from Florida for a few days to celebrate his dad's (my uncle) Birthday.  My Uncle Kim turned 60 today!  Happy Birthday Kim!

It was very nice to catch up with KC and to finally introduce him to Randy and Memphis.  It is hard to believe that they had never met before but I do not think I had seen KC since 2009 so it had been a while!  Tracy (my cousin, KC's sister) and her little girl Cameron were there and so it was a mini reunion of the cousins (well minus Tyler and Brandon!).  Dad, Grandpa and Emma also came over to Kims and we all sat around talking and eating some delicious chocolate cake (which I had to take a couple bites of and then walk away...omg that cake was so good I was afraid if I sat down to eat a whole piece I would have had more than one...YUM!)
