Monday Night

Well we were out and about on Monday night trying to find a new pair of shoes for Noah and were headed over to West Des Moines to the Nike Outlet store.  On our way we witnessed an accident where a car blew its back tire and then slammed into the center median and then came right at us.  Thankfully, Randy caught all of what was happening in the side mirror and was able to get out of the way and stopped before the out of control car hit us.  The car the blew its tire had come to a stop about 50 yards in front of us.  Once the car stopped and we stopped Randy got out and ran to help the person in the car.  When he arrived the man was unconscious.  I called 911.  Eventually, all the cops, firefighters and an ambulance were all there.  We were the first ones on the scene.  Lots of excitement.  Randy stayed with the man until the ambulance got there.

The entire time Randy was outside helping, Noah was so worried about his dad and asked several times if he should start to worry yet.  I kept telling him no there is no need to worry at this point.  Once Randy made it back Noah felt a little more relieved but he was still very shaken by the accident that we all witnessed.

While we were sitting in the car and waiting a firefighter came over to speak to us and Noah chimed in and told the firefighter that his Grandpa used to be a firefighter (Craig)!  I wish everyone could have seen the smile on Noah's face of how proud he was to say that.

Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.  The man in the car was taken to the hospital but he did regain consciousness soon after the accident.  There was another car that was hit and that lady was okay too.

It was an eventful night...and we were all so blessed that we were ALL okay.  Nerves were still a little shaky at bed time for some but all in all we had our angel watching over us last night.

The accident, there was more behind us as the lady that was hit was further back.  We were on the shoulder but they had us pull over, just in case any of you were wondering whey we were stopped by the median.

The boys trying to entertain themselves while we waited.  Glad I had my iPad for Noah to use.
